 Sleeping bags
|
| “Night Night Song”We enlisted a diverse group of Chicagoland children to perform our “Night Night” song. Each child was told to bring a pillow and sleeping bag for a fun scene about going to bed. After the first take, the children had a HUGE pillow fight with each other and had a great time. We used that fun video in It’s Hip Hop, Baby! Things We Do Everyday. |
 Abc
|
| “ABC Song”We borrowed a handful of blue bean bag chairs from Aspire of Illinois’ children’s center. They had a lot of matching bean bags so we brought them to our taping. We also created the foam ABC letters you see behind the children and spray painted them for set pieces. The letters were taller than the children but light enough for anyone to pick up. They were so delicate that if you bumped into them you could easily break off a a small piece of styrofoam. We used colored sharpie markers to cover up “dings” and “dents.” We also had the children clap to the beat while they were singing the ABC song. It was a challenge for some of the younger children but the older children figured it out quickly. |

| “ZOO”Several children spent the day at the Brookfield Zoo filming for the It’s Hip Hop, Baby! series. They got a private visit and talk with a zoo keeper who takes care of the bald eagles. It was an exciting day and the kids learned a lot about animals. |

| “Gymnastics”We spent one day filming at The Lakeshore Academy of Artistic Gymnastics to interview young gymnasts for It’s Hip Hop, Baby! Get Healthy Get Fit. Eden and Kai did back handsprings, balance bar, the uneven bars and flips on the trampoline. Engaging in fun fitness and competitive fitness is a great way to keep young children healthy and fit. |
 Drummer
|
| “Drummer”We stumbled upon this five year old drummer boy by accident. His older sister was an extra in the dance scenes that were being filmed that day so he was just along for the ride with his family. When he came in, we noticed he was carrying a cute little green drum so we asked mom and dad if he could play something for us. To everyone’s surprise, this pint-sized kindergartner had talent beyond his years. We immediately added him to our production schedule and filmed him for a feature spot in the DVD series. |
